Best mid-size E-ink tablet for mixed use?
I’m looking for an e-reader that is a bit larger than a standard Kindle but not as massive as a 13-inch tablet. I want a 7 or 8-inch screen that is good for both reading novels and occasionally checking my email or reading news articles. What is the "sweet spot" size for someone who wants a bit of everything?

A 7.8-inch screen is generally considered the sweet spot for mixed use. It’s large enough that you don't have to flip pages constantly, but still small enough to be portable.
